Custom jewel buttons

THE BUTTON IS PART OF OUR HISTORY. TODAY WE CONTINUE TO REINTERPRET IT FOR LUXURY COLLECTIONS.

We create custom jewel buttons for apparel, outerwear and knitwear, developing each project from the design studio’s drawings, from an idea or from a proposal in our exclusive sample collection.

The button is one of the crafts from which our experience in fashion accessories was born. A specialisation built over time and handed down through generations, which today combines aesthetic sensitivity, technical development and production capability.

Casting, die-stamping, laser cutting and engraving, decorative work, plating and polishing: every stage is carried out with particular attention to proportion, attachment system, functionality and quality of finish.

Three levels of customisation

Bespoke buttons for every project

Every collection interprets the button differently. That is why we develop custom jewel buttons through three levels of intervention.

From our sample collection

We select one of our models and customise its diameter, finishes, attachment system or decorative details.

From one of our bases

We start from an existing model and redesign it to the design studio’s specifications, working on shape, proportions, volumes, attachments and processes.

From an original design

We develop the button from scratch, starting from a sketch, a technical drawing, a 3D file, a photograph, a moodboard or even just an idea, through to prototyping and approval before production.

From design to production

How a jewel button is made

1

Briefing

Every project begins with a dialogue with the design studio. We start from our seasonal sample collection or from material provided by the client: a technical drawing, a moodboard, a 3D file, a photographic reference or even just an idea.

Together we define the intended use, dimensions, aesthetic features, expected volumes and cost targets, so as to identify from the outset the materials, processes and production solutions best suited to the project.

2

Feasibility

Our technical department checks thicknesses, geometries, volumes, weight, attachment system and compatibility with the planned processes and finishes.

With a button, even a few millimetres can change proportion, weight and how it sits on the garment. That is why every detail is fine-tuned to strike the right balance between aesthetic intent, functionality and production feasibility.

When necessary, we propose alternative technical solutions that preserve the identity of the project before moving on to prototyping.

3

Prototype

We model the piece in 3D and produce the prototype in resin or wax for casting.

On the prototype we concretely check proportions, weight, volumes, attachment system and how it looks on the garment, making any corrections directly to the model.

It is a key stage for perfecting the button before sampling and subsequent production.

4

Finishes and sampling

The finish is an integral part of a jewel button’s character. Plating is therefore tested directly on the piece, assessing shade and result in relation to surfaces, reliefs, engravings and geometries.

Alongside our standard finishes, we produce custom plating to specification, developed in compliance with the client’s technical and aesthetic requirements.

We prepare the variants, check their appearance and durability and, once the finish is approved, the sample becomes the reference for the entire production run.

5

Production

Once the sample is approved, we start production with quality checks on every batch and verification of compliance with the approved reference.

Particular attention is paid to consistency of dimensions, finishes, decorative details and attachment systems, so that every button retains the characteristics defined during sampling.

We manage packaging and deliveries in line with the collection calendar, keeping moulds and references in stock to ensure continuity for future reorders.

Applications

The button as a signature element of the collection

A button is not just a functional element. Proportion, volume, finish and detail can turn it into a true signature of the garment.

We create jewel buttons for coats, jackets, outerwear, dresses, knitwear, shirts and fashion accessories, developing sizes, attachment systems and finishes according to the specific application.

For projects that require complete coordinated sets, we also develop buckles and other accessories for the collection, maintaining aesthetic consistency and uniform finishes.

Arienzo Lab – luxury workshop

A story told through the button

The button holds a special place in the history of Arienzo Lab.

It is one of the crafts on which the previous generation built its experience, and a skill we have continued to develop over time, evolving it together with the needs of fashion and design studios.

Today, that knowledge translates into the ability to approach the button in all its components: design, proportions, materials, attachment systems, processes, decorations and finishes, from the first creative spark through to production.

Alongside this experience, we offer exclusive sample collections, renewed every season, designed not only to present new models but to give design studios a starting point for new interpretations.

Made in Italy, from design to production.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions most frequently asked by design studios and purchasing departments.
For specific requirements, our team is available to assess your project directly.

We do not apply a standard minimum quantity to all projects. Quantities and conditions are assessed according to the item, the processes involved and the production process. We handle both sampling and production runs, defining the most suitable solution for each client’s needs on a case-by-case basis.

Yes. We can start from a technical drawing, a 3D file, a sketch, a photograph, a moodboard or even just an idea. Our in-house design studio supports the client in the creative and technical development of the project, interpreting its mood and turning it into a concrete proposal, all the way to the prototype.

The attachment system is defined according to the button, the garment and the requirements of the project. We assess the most suitable solution from the development stage, considering functionality, proportions, weight and aesthetic result.

Lead times are defined according to the characteristics of the project and the processes required. Managing many production stages in-house allows us to be particularly fast in producing samples. For more complex work requiring modelling, moulds or casting, lead times are agreed according to the technical steps involved.

Yes. In addition to our standard finishes, we develop custom plating finishes to the client’s specifications, working on shades, technical characteristics and required standards. The approved sample becomes the reference for subsequent production.

Confidentiality is an integral part of how we work. We routinely operate under non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) and, when requested, sign the client’s NDA before receiving any project material. Drawings, models, moulds and 3D files developed to order remain confidential and are never used for other clients or included in our sample collections.

Our plating finishes are produced in compliance with the European regulation on nickel release and with REACH requirements. Depending on the project, we can also develop finishes to the client’s technical specifications and requirements.

Yes. We can develop coordinated buttons and accessories for the same collection, maintaining consistency in design, finish and quality standards across the different components.

Yes. We manage the project in-house from technical development and prototyping through to production and quality control, keeping a direct reference to the approved sample and the specifications agreed with the client.
